Letting go; Saying Farewell

Give me your smile

I'll bottle it for the morning

Give me your groove, and cut the jive

I don't need a struggle to survive

Let's eat shades of rain and hope, mindless

And replete. Concrete

And abstract come colliding; One blanket reality

Covering points of wondering eyes.

Never let go of what got us here

The glance and intrigue, and bared ivory--

We're charming, sure, but twisted.

Barrel through

The unnecessary tribal yells

The pledge to allegiances that never quit

And never cast convincing spells.

What have we done? We've cut new rivers.

I've carved new rhymes

Hollow boats to cast us out beyond the point

And never drift in doubt.

Never say farewell to the notion

Of a taller ocean, and empty sands

Foretelling the crashing expand, but sleeping.
